Museu de Lisboa - Teatro Romano
NÚCLEO
Museu de sítio, localizado na zona histórica da cidade, este núcleo do Museu de Lisboa pretende revelar o que foi um dos monumentos mais importantes de Olisipo.
O museu encontra-se instalado em dois edifícios de distintas épocas, um setecentista e outro dos finais do séc. XIX, exemplar da arquitetura industrial e onde funcionou uma tipografia e uma fábrica de malas. Esta construção foi recuperada e adaptada para a instalação do anterior Museu do Teatro Romano, inaugurado em finais de 2001.
Após dois anos de encerramento, para a realização de novas campanhas arqueológicas, total remodelação museográfica e melhoria das condições de acessibilidade e de conforto, o Museu de Lisboa – Teatro Romano abriu ao público em 31 de Setembro de 2015.
O Museu de Lisboa – Teatro Romano compreende área de exposição de longa duração e campo arqueológico.
THE SITE
This is an on-site museum, located in the historic area of the city; this site of the Museum of Lisbon aims to reveal what used to be one of the most important monuments of the city of Olisipo.
The museum is set inside two buildings from different eras, one from the eighteenth century and the other from the beginning of the nineteenth, an example of industrial architecture, which used to house a printing press and a leather bag factory. The building was renovated and adapted to host the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre.
The site has a long-term exhibition and is an archeological dig site.
