Museo Bagatti Valsecchi
The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, nestled in downtown historic Milan, Italy, is an authentic “Italian Renaissance time capsule” assembled by collectors at the end of the 19th century.
One of Europe’s most important and best preserved historic house museums, the luxurious Bagatti Valsecchi Museum offers visitors a chance to explore the Neo-Renaissance mansion of the aristocratic brothers, Fausto and Giuseppe, who wanted to live like Renaissance princes, so they furnished their 16th – 19th century home with Italian Renaissance art and furniture which they collected just for this purpose. The house and collections have been preserved just as the brothers wished them to be seen at the end of the 19th century.
The museum, open from 1-5:45 PM every day except Monday and certain public holidays, has information cards in each room in Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Japanese for adults; cards for children are available in Italian and also in English. Audio guides in Italian, English, French and Japanese for adults are available free-of-charge with entrance ticket purchase (for children, only in Italian), and it is possible to reserve a guided tour in English and other languages in advance (groups are encouraged to reserve).
