Exhibition marking the centenary of the birth of Dnevnik photojournalist Marjan Ciglič – The Master of Photography for all Times
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of photojournalist Marjan Ciglič (1924-1998), one of the most important Slovenian photojournalists of the twentieth century. He worked for more than 40 years for the Dnevnik newspaper and created a remarkable photographic opus comprising some 300,000 photographs. The resulting collection is an invaluable part of Slovenia’s national heritage and covers both simple moments from everyday life and the most high-profile political, social and economic events. Ciglič’s story is placed in a broader historical context through photographs, diary entries and artefacts, and constitutes an unmistakable historical source for studying and understanding the lives of Slovenians.
The media partner of the exhibition is the Dnevnik newspaper.
The author of the exhibition is Monika Močnik, phd.
The exhibition has been prepared with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
