Willy Guhl: Thinking with Your Hands

For decades, Guhl represented a holistic design approach that was oriented on people and their needs: durability, functionality and the reduction to essentials characterize his comfortable interiors and intelligent objects for daily use. As a teacher at Zurich School of Arts and Crafts (today Zurich University of the Arts), he showed generations of interior architects and product designers how good design is recognized with all the senses. The exhibition uses design processes, prototypes, photos, and films to present Willy Guhl’s creative work and offers visitors plenty of opportunities for a hands-on approach.
