The winged scarab seems to date from the 25th Dynasty. These winged scarabs have holes so that they can be sewn to mummy bandages.

Faience scarab, with flat base and eight holes around edge for sewing onto mummy wrappings. Such scarabs usually had separate wings and date to the 26th Dynasty. From the National Museum of Wales Cardiff. Originally part of the collection of Lord Aberdare.
