A sweeping landscape. On a path in the left foreground is a girl carrying a pitcher on her head. Across the Derwent Valley in the middle distance from left to right are James Paine's chapel, the banqueting house, the hall and the column of Liberty. Beyond is hilly ground with fields and woods. At the left three thin trees form a 'coulisse' for that side of the composition. Purchased of the assistance of the National Heritage Memorial Fund Size: 43.1 x 26.25 cm.
