PLACES TO VISIT
- Torre Nueva o de Boabdil, Municipal Archaeological Museum of Obulco.
-Church of La Asunción.
It was designed by Justino Flórez along Romanesque and Byzantine lines and inaugured in 1910. Inside, however, it conserves the beautiful manerist sacristy of the original church, together with the painting made by Julio Romero de Torres in 1903.
- Church of Nuestro PAdre Jesús.
It was remodeled in the 18th century, when its most interesting elements were added, including a rococo altarpiece and the baroque side-chapel, richly decorated with plant-like plasterwork and folden stuccoes on green and red backgrounds.
- Casa de la Piedra.
this original monument, example of the imagination and art of local stonemansons, was built by Antonio Aguilera Ruedas, "Gronzón". He spent 29 years working with the golden stone of Porcuna to construct the house, almost entirely made of stone, including walls, ceiling and a good part of the forniture.
-Church of San Benito.
The hemitage, located near the excavations of the ancient city of Obulco, is a reminder of the role played by Porcuna as one of the most important priories of the order of Calatrava in the Middle Ages.
