Taschen has dedicated a monograph to the more than sixty years of history of Kartell, presenting the “plastic revolution” in daily life from post-war days up to the present, through the voices and images of the protagonists, the designers and the products themselves.
The six decades of activity are analysed, among others, by Silvana Annicchiarico, Gillo Dorfles, Chantal Hamaide, Franca Sozzani, Marie-Laure Jousset.
The volume is like an immersion in the birth, evolution, challenges and achievements of Kartell, through images and photographs never published before.
“Doing a book on Kartell is much more than just creating a book on design – explains Claudio Luti, President of Kartell – talking about this brand, in fact, means talking about a family, a city, and a pioneering idea that, thanks to a new material, discovered the Culture of Plastics”.
