Urasenke is one of the largest and the oldest schools of Japanese tea ceremony. Tea masters of the Urasenke school are direct ascendants of the great master Sen Rikyu who coded the tea ceremony and perfected The Way of Tea, still in use today. Over four hundred years ago, the master Sen Rikyu conceived Chado - Way of Tea or the ceremony of drinking tea, on the basis of values such as harmony (wa), respect (kei), purity (sei) and peacefulness (jaku). This concept is basically concerned with prescribed movements, special utensils, Japanese history and culture and a collaboration of participants.
Yumiko Murakami is a disciple of the Urasenke school in Kyoto where she teaches Chado. For the first time in Slovenia, together with her collaborators she will perform the Way of Tea, with original tea ware and equipment specially brought form Japan for this occasion.
