Relaxed Opening Afternoon
As York Castle Museum is busy at times, we will put our lights on full and turn off all the sound effects so it’s a less overwhelming environment for visitors. You’ll still be able to visit all of the galleries, but there will be no dark areas and no sudden sounds and we will warn you in advance when you are about to enter an area where a film may start suddenly. We’ll also have a quiet space available should you need it.
