The Battle of the Somme: A 100th Anniversary Screening

This was a ground-breaking blockbuster seen by 20 million people setting an unbroken box office record. Hastings-born cameraman Geoffrey Malins shot much of the footage and edited the film, which would later become the first British artefact designated of world significance by UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme.
