Annual Drecki Lecture presented in conjunction with the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts:

Devon author and painter Ray Balkwill describes his passion for his native county as ‘running as deep as the red earth itself’. This illustrated talk provides a fascinating glimpse into the artist’s personal and physical relationship with the landscape, and in particular his ‘love affair’ with the Exe Estuary. As an Academician of the South West Academy and member of the St Ives Society of Artists, his words and paintings have carried the grandeur of our region far and wide. The evening will appeal to all those who are equally passionate about art and the landscape. Drinks will be available from 6pm. The Friends support the museum with financial help towards acquisitions and conservation. Charity no 306649. W www.exeter.gov.uk/friends. E friends@exeter.gov.uk.
