Description: Cream-coloured earthenware (Queen's ware), transfer-printed underglaze in black, and gilt. Cylindrical with loop handle. Decorated on the exterior with the stippled, foliated initials 'E II R' over which is superimposed a crown, supported by a stylized lion and a unicorn over the date '19 53'. The rim and lower edge are banded in gold. The upper part of the interior is printed 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN' in black. Down the handle there is a straight spray of paired leaves, flanked by gilt lines.
