; Classification(s): scarab, scarab, mouldmade; Acquisition: bequeathed by McClean, Frank (1837-1904), 1904 [E.30.1904] Description: Faience scarab inscribed on the base with two crocodiles. The crocodiles are possibly a reference to the god Sobek. Crocodiles were also believed to offer protection in Ancient Egypt. The scarab is pierced lengthways.
