Broadfield House Glass Museum

The elegant Regency facade of this Grade II* listed historical building provides a clue as to the charming experience awaiting visitors. Within will be found many attractive architectural features and a range of fascinating objects, from modern glass art to industrial equipment from the Victorian era.

Explore the displays and you will discover glass from the 17th century up to the present day, revealing the diversity of glass and the creativity of glassmakers through the ages. From contemporary art to biscuit barrels, it is incredible to see how glass has been manipulated for so many uses.

In addition to the glass displays are several paintings that bring glass making and the local landscape to life. The museum also displays glass making tools and and some of the ephemera produced by the glass industry.

In 1980 the collections of glass numbered about 2,000 items. Today that number has risen to over 8,000, including items on long-term loan. The majority of the glass collection is secured at the Museum's stores at Himley Hall and not open to the public. Viewing is by appointment only by contacting the Glass Museum.
