The Fusilier Museum

The Fusilier Museum is home to the collections of XX The Lancashire Fusiliers and Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Together they record over 300 years of history and heritage. In addition to the modern and interactive permanent displays, there are temporary exhibitions to highlight the extensive collection and its significance to to those associated with the Regiment's past, present and future. The La...ncashire Headquarters of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and Army Careers Information Office share the building and look to the future. The town's Tourist Information Centre has relocated into the museum entrance, together with a new shop and Bistro to support the work of the museum. Set in the heart of Bury's Cultural Quarter, the museum is an important new facility for the community of Bury and the region.

Although the regiment is full of stories of bravery and courage, the Regiment has been associated with many famous people whose fame is more widely known. These include James Wolfe of Quebec, Robert Ross of Blandensburg and North Point, Earl Gray (who invented the tea), Dr Arnott (the surgeon to the regiment and Napoleon), Wellington, Buller (the war poet), Kitchener, JRR Tolkein (the author of Lord of the Rings) Montgomery William Slim, and Edward Lutyens (who designed the Whitehall memorial) to name but a few.

The Fusilier Museum also houses Delicious at the Fusiliers where tasty meals and homemade cakes are available.
