The main exhibition on Kizhi Island represents rich culture of the Russians, Karelians and Vepsians of the XIX century. The collection comprises 82 wooden architecture monuments dates from XV to XX century.
The heart of the exhibition is the Kizhi Pogost - an architectural ensemble comprising two wooden churches from XVIII century and a bell-tower. Kizhi Pogost was inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list in 1990, being one of the first three UNESCO sites in Russia.
