The Liberation of Skopje – Symbol of a Generation

The Liberation of Skopje is Dušan Jovanović's most frequently staged and best-known drama. Its destiny has been marked by censorship, extraordinary success in the former Yugoslavia, guest performances from Australia to North and South America, and numerous revivals. 

Before the premiere of the new production at SNT Drama Ljubljana, we will take a walk through the destiny of The Liberation of Skopje through photographs of legendary productions and answer the question as: what led to its success, how was this drama received in different productions, how was it understood in different parts of the world and in different historical contexts?
