Copper alloy Hathor crown from small statue. Hathor is usually depicted wearing a sun's disc between two horns. The sun disc relates to her role as daughter of Re, and her motherly and nurturing nature was shown by her depiction as a cow, or a woman with a cows head, or simply, as here, by the cow horns. However, other goddess's particularly, Isis also wore crowns such as these. This item has a square pase as though intended to go in a square hole. 58mm high. Top of horns have been knocked off.
