This summer Holiday we have two different workshops! On a Wednesday afternoon make your own selfportait on a Sphere. On a Sunday afternoon kids can cut out a Linoleum square and print it on paper, just as Escher did. Per workshop about 10 children can join, reservation is not possible.
If it is very busy there are always quests through the museum. Explore the interactive exhibition on the second floor and finally be bigger than your parents!
Wednesday afternoon workshop
Selfportait in Sphere (13:30 – 16:30)
Apart from through his work, how can we best get to know an artist? The answer is to look at his self-portraits. Between 1917 and 1950, Escher created twelve self-portraits. Hand with Reflecting Sphere is one of Escher’s most famous works. This lithograph, first printed in 1935, is also known as Self-Portrait in Spherical Mirror.
Now you can make your own selfportrait on a sphere!
Sunday afternoon workshop
Lino cut (12:30 – 16:30)
A print is a reflection of what you cut into the Lino. Did you cut a house on the Right side of the Lino, on the print you will see it on the Left side. For children of 7 years and older.
