Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle de Nantes

The Natural History Museum of Nantes is a natural history museum located in the French city of Nantes, Loire-Atlantique.

The museum was established in the early 19th century in the School for Surgery of the Saint Leonard, based on the collections of Francois Rene Dubuisson.

In 1868, the City of Nantes decided to build a new museum at the rear of the Hôtel des Monnaies. The Museum opened in 1875 and was designed by architect Gustave Bourgerel. It includes a large hall on two levels, preceded by a vestibule.
