Cantini Museum

Musée Cantini de Marseille

The Cantini Museum is a museum located at 19, rue Grignan in Marseille. It houses collections of modern art and contemporary art.

The museum specializes in contemporary art, especially on the so-called "modern"in the first half of the twentieth century.

The museum now houses one of the largest French public collections covering the period 1900-1960. The panorama of the works presented is rich with different historical periods, such as Fauvism (Charles Camoin, Lombard), the first Cubism (Raoul Dufy, Albert Gleizes, Henri Laurens), geometric abstraction (Kandinsky, Frantisek Kupka, Jean Helion, Alberto Magnelli, Ozenfant) and Surrealism (Max Ernst, André Masson, Victor Brauner, Joan Miro, Jean Arp).
