Museum für Gestaltung – Schaudepot (Museum of Design Zurich)

Museum für Gestaltung Zürich

The  Museum für Gestaltung is Switzerland’s leading museum for design and visual communication.

Since its founding in 1875 the Museum has collected whatever is effective as “design” and tells about the use of designed objects and images, about designer personalities or the kinds of design that shape our everyday visual world.

In the the Schaudepot, its new location on the Toni Campus in Zurich West, the museum shows temporary exhibitions and brings together the poster, design, applied art and graphics collections that comprise more than 500 000 objects. Guided tours will offer insights into the Museum’s internationally important collections and enable visitors to experience design history.

After being remodelled as an exhibition space the location on Ausstellungsstrasse, in the listed building designed by Steger & Egender in 1933, will be reopened in its original form. Up-to-date information can be found on the website.
