Swiss Design Collection

The museum houses the largest international design collection in Switzerland. The new permanent exhibition presents highlights and opens up access to the archives.

The Museum für Gestaltung Zürich possesses in its archives the largest international design collection in Switzerland. In the new permanent exhibition entitled Swiss Design Collection, it presents roughly 2,000 objects from the fields of graphic design, typography, poster design, textiles, product design, and arts and crafts. Now that parts of the archive have been made accessible, the objects there – each with its own history; each the result of a unique design process – can be experienced up close. The exhibition also features temporary installations that show different perspectives on the collection. In the building’s Studio, visitors can create and test out designs for themselves, acquire more in-depth knowledge, exchange ideas or simply relax.
