In a poetic circuit that can be followed in any order, a series of fun set-ups immerse children aged 5 to 12 and their families in the life and work of the celebrated 20th century artist: an iconic figure in modern Mexican art.
Frida Kahlo drew her subjects from not only her life, her country, popular and pre-Columbian culture, her family and her love for the painter Diego Rivera but also from her physical suffering, which she overcame to regain her freedom.
The stage design by the Les Sismo Designers is a reinterpretation of the artist's sources of inspiration based on six themes: the self-portrait, pain, family, nature, Diego Rivera and Paris. Each theme has its own colour.
Through hands-on experiences children explore the ideas of identity, culture and the perception and representation of the self: all windows onto Frida's story and her work, and the wonderful, colourful world of Mexico.
