A young Scot shows how intelligent and refreshing it is to think practically Lucy McKenzie breaks with the unwritten rules of the avant-garde. She does not feel com-pelled to stand aloof from tradition, but chooses to recognise its qualities. Nor does she pro-claim a pure art pour l’art, but sees herself rather as an artisan. And instead of cultivating her own individuality she loves to play in a team. It is this relaxed approach that has allowed her to produce a range of exceptional editions – posters, record covers, scarves and more – which Museum Ludwig has bought in their entirety. The first presentation will be installed by McKenzie in person: the editions will be framed by a mural.
