Bernhard Leitner. Ton – Raum – Skulptur

Since the late 1960s, Bernhard Leitner (b. 1938), basing his work on empirical investigations, has dedicated himself to the issue of how space can be made acoustically and physically experienceable.

His installations and objects, all of which can be used and accessed, are concerned with employing nothing but sound to produce physically perceivable spaces defined by certain sculptural-architectural ideas. His works depend on the involvement of the visitor who, becoming part of these sound spaces by lying, standing, and moving, begins to understand their specific impact.
