The Great War the Little Man

The exhibition The Great War and the Little Man is dedicated to unknown soldiers, courageous and daring women and mothers, persons of high moral fibre and patriotism who fought for their fatherland and the lives of their families in accordance with their rearing and an entrenched system of values. These are accounts of men and women who resisted temptations to save their honour. These were honourable "little" people from Serbian villages and towns who transcended the Great War.

At the exhibition, the period of Wold War I is presented through museum objects, photos, archival materials and audio recordings.

By organizing the exhibition The Great War and the Little Man, the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade joined other cultural institutions in Serbia and Europe in commemorating the anniversary of the outbreak of World War I.

Authors of the exhibition: Vesna Bižić-Omčikus; Vesna Marjanović, PhD; Mirjana Kraguljac Ilić, MA; Tatjana Mikulić, MA, and Jelena Tucaković, MA.
