Safety Curtain 2014/15 by Joan Jonas
Joan Jonas created the 17th large-format picture (176 sq m) for the exhibition series "Safety Curtain" at the Vienna State Opera. An international jury (Daniel Birnbaum, Akiko Miyake, Hans-Ulrich Obrist) selected the artist. In 2015 the internationally renowned artist will officially represent the United States in its national pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale.
"Safety Curtain" is an exhibition series conceived by museum in progress, which transforms the safety curtain into a temporary exhibition space for contemporary art.
To mark the artist's design of the "Safety Curtain" 2014/15 museum in progress is delighted to present an exclusive signed and numbered special edition.
