AVA 2014: Degree Show
Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana will be presented in Vžigalica Gallery with the exhibition of works of the fourth generation of AVA's graduating students of their two degree programs, Conceptualization of Space and Fine Arts, who will successfully finish their studies in this academic year.
The Academy of Visual Arts encourages interdisciplinary research and the use of new media and technologies within a theoretical framework. Study is based on a critical understanding of art within a broad cultural and social context. AVA students are given the tools and experience to work in a wide range of professional artistic environments.
AVA is an independent, non-profit school that constantly seeks to improve the quality of its courses through annual assessments that are conducted by external examiners. Students at AVA are tutored and supervised by artists and lecturers from various European universities. AVA holds a unique position in Slovenia in that its courses are based on the British higher education system. The students and the school have received several Slovenian and international awards for contemporary art, short films, and photography since 2008.
