The exhibition should add value to the understanding of children and childhood and the significant role that amateur media play in their lives. Children are represented in many amateur films, but they also perform in and make amateur films. This will be reflected in the exhibition, which will will include films/media made in the 1930s to digital films made in the twenty first century. We would like the exhibition to demonstrate not just the diversity and history of these films but also to reflect on the exhibition of these films as it relates to the different contexts in which these films were and are shown: such as festivals/competitions, at home, in schools and now online.
