The danish freedomfighters

This part of the permanent exhibition tells the story about the danish freedomfighters under the german occupation of Denmark during ww2.
From april 9th 1940 the danish people developed resistence groups that were in contact with the allied. The allied supplied the resistence guns, amunition and explosives, and the resistence blew up railways and important nazi communication. By 1943 the danish army got disbandet and alot of danish soldiers went in to the resistence.
This exhibit tells the story about the soldiers in the resistence, those who organised parachute drops, made the special signs that resistence gruops had to wear if they were cought by the germans so they would not be shot as spies - out of old uniforms in the allied collours, those who defended the military bases when the german soldiers came to dismantle the army in 1943 and many more..
