Desert - Survival in the Drought

The deserts are a habitat with a very few number of species. Only animals that have adapted to the extreme climate are able to live in those regions. However, because of heat and drought, it is not an easy life for those animals.

The exhibition "Desert - Survival in the Drought" shows the tricks animals use to survive and issues the adaptations evolved. It guides through an ecosystem that has more to discover than one may think at first.

Real desert sand from Sahara makes the naturalistic landscape staging authentic. Its special structure can be studied with magnifying glasses and compared with other types of sand.

Furthermore there is the possibility to examine the outward structures of desert animals to find out how survival in the drought is possible.
