Join us for a comedic debate at the Royal Institution. The first of two evenings curated by Helen Keen, award-winning comedian and creator of BBC Radio 4’s fact-based hit space comedy It Is Rocket Science, with guests from the worlds of stand-up, sci fi and science. The fantastic line-up of speakers, specially curated by Helen Keen, includes: Ali Sparkes – Science fiction author, winner of the Blue Peter Book of the Year for Frozen in Time – a tale of two cryogenically frozen children from the 1950s, brought back to life in 2009. Prof Sophie Scott – Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, UCL, who’ll be talking about alien abductions and the psychological issues around space travel. Dr Suze Kundu – Materials chemist, science communicator, and nano enthusiast who will look at Neal Stephenson's 'The Diamond Age'. Paul Cornell – Sci fi author & writer for Doctor Who – including Human Nature & The Family of Blood episodes. Writer for Marvel & DC Comics Paul Olding – Director - Wonders of the Universe/Wonders of Life Gareth Edwards – Comedy writer & children's author.
