Fragmentary Ancestors? Figurines and Archaeology from Koma Land, Ghana With Prof Benjamin Kankpeyeng and Professor Timothy Insoll. Monday 28 October 5-6pm Free An insight into the fieldwork that has taken place in Koma Land in northern Ghana since 2006, this talk explores the practical difficulties and challenges of working in such a remote region. Prof. Benjamin Kankpeyeng and Professor Timothy Insoll shed light on the possible purpose and meaning of the figurines and how CT scanning completed at the University of Manchester can further our understanding of these unique objects.
