28 Letters: The Short Life Of Renée (Baba) Friedmann On Not So Calm Water

28 Letters: The Short Life Of Renée (Baba) Friedmann On Not So Calm Waters is a new book by Robbie Friedmann about people who lived through the horrors of the Holocaust. It explores how individuals coped with the challenge of living beyond surviving during the years 1941-1947, including the imposition of Communism in Eastern Europe, and the last years of the British Mandate in Palestine. The book is the direct outcome of the discovery of 28 letters that Renée Friedmann, the author's mother, wrote to her sister. Yet the story behind these documents encompasses far more than two sisters exchanging letters, since a large part of the story explores how the author got to know his mother through these letters.
