We will be offering visitors the rare opportunity to sign up for scheduled tours of our basement stores. Staff will show you treasures from our extensive and wide-ranging collections, which include early printed books, pre-twentieth century theatre ephemera, the archive of the RSC, and a wealth of material pertaining to the history of Stratford and South Warwickshire, including documents which mention Shakespeare from his lifetime and local estate collections.

Meeting point is the Reading Room Reception at the Shakespeare Centre There are 15 places available for each event.
Stack tours do involve a considerable amount of standing and walking, including stairs. Whilst the Shakespeare Centre is not an easy building for wheelchair users to access, please contact us if you have any special requirements or concerns and we will try to facilitate your visit.
There are a number of multi-storey car parks nearby, the nearest are in Windsor Street and Rother Street.
Visitors will be asked to leave coats, bags and food in lockers before going down to the basement. We welcome people of all ages, but the nature of the event means it is unlikely to appeal to children under 10.
