Alice in Wonderland

Discovery and exploration will take on a whole new meaning this half-term, 11-19 February, at Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, when the whole museum will spring into life with the amazing world of Alice in Wonderland.

Members of the Eureka! team will be transformed into a roll call of characters from the famous Lewis Carroll children’s book, including the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and, of course, Alice herself.

Themed areas of the museum will bring a touch of Wonderland magic and help children explore the wonder of discovery in all its forms.

You’ll be able to join the Mad Hatter and the March Hare for tea at various times throughout the day. Alice will be wandering the galleries looking for the White Rabbit - who really doesn’t want to be late - and there will be a special round of croquet and other curious games in the Queen of Hearts’ Garden.

Eureka!’s February half-term offering looks set to be another crowd-puller and forms part of a year-long programme of events aimed at children aged from 0-11. All half-term events are free with an annual pass standard admission and suitable for all the family, so make sure you join us for a week of wonderland fun or it will be off with your head!

Last November, Eureka! was rated the UK’s Number 1 hands-on museum by The Independent newspaper – the perfect accolade for a museum in the run up to its 20th birthday. A major feature of 2012 will be a summer festival in the grounds of the Eureka! site, which will give families and children the chance to help us celebrate 20 years of play and learning through a range of fun, family activities.
