A Stitch in Time

From its earliest inception, The Olive Matthews Collection has incorporated beautiful examples of hand worked embroidery. A new exhibition at Chertsey Museum, A Stitch in Time, displays some of the best items dating from the early 1600s through to the first half of the 20th century. Pieces include full garments, accessories, samplers and workboxes. Linked to the exhibition, there will be embroidery demonstrations by the Royal School of Needlework on Saturday 24 November and Saturday 8 December from 1pm to 3pm.
