A Royal Room Restored

This was the central room of the earlier Marine Pavilion. The interior decoration has changed several times since the earliest days of the building and there is currently a conservation programme to restore the Royal Pavilion’s historic Saloon to the dazzling splendour of its original interior design. The final stages of the restoration are currently taking place and all will be revealed on the 8 September when the Saloon re-opens to the public. Decorated for King George IV in 1823, visitors will step into a room of breath-taking beauty and experience history at its visually stunning best.
