Tudor England - Brick by Brick

In May, the Mary Rose Museum gave visitors the opportunity to help recreate a famous Tudor portrait of Henry VIII. This time it's going even bigger, and recreating the colourful Cowdray Engraving, to make a giant picture showing the whole of Tudor Portsmouth on the day that the Mary Rose sank, as a LEGO® brick mosaic. The overall mosaic will be over 12 metres wide, making it one of the largest ever made in the UK! Will you make part of the Isle of Wight, one of the French or English ships, or one of the troops stationed in Portsmouth? You might even get to make the masts of the Mary Rose as they protrude from the water's surface... In partnership with Bright Bricks, the UK's only LEGO-certified professional building company, the museum is inviting everyone, young and old, to participate in reconstructing this iconic image! Participating in this crowdfunded event costs just £6, giving you the opportunity to put the bricks on an 8x8 studded LEGO square, which will be added into the mosaic. You'll even get to make and take your own LEGO brick-built model!
