Making a Buzz (10.30am – 12.30pm): Find out how you can be a bee friend. Explore the gardens beside the museum to look for bees and identify them. Finish by making your own bee hotel (materials supplied), and planting a bee-friendly seedling (bring your own yoghurt pot or similar container). Children must be accompanied by an adult (max of 3 children per adult).
The Plight of the Bumblebee (2pm – 3pm): A talk by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust on the work they do to help these beautiful insects survive, and what you can do to help.
There will also be a number of drop-in activities on the day, including a Buzz Trail around the museum (£1), face painting (£3), and make your own bee wings (£3). These are all payable on the day and you don’t need to book.
