Roman Britain: A Tale of Two Queens

Spend a day looking at the early years of the occupation of Britain, leading up to the explosive rebellion of the Iceni tribe. The Romans were astonished to find women ruling tribes. Boudicca is the best known, although her turbulent time in power lasted only a few months. What of Cartimandua, a contemporary of Boudicca? She ruled the largest tribe in northern England and managed to survive years of conflict, including war with her ex-husband.
