A brief history of Britain, terrorism and counterterrorism

The UK has a long history of facing threats from terrorism and politically-motivated extremism, from the gunpowder plot of 1605 to the Manchester bombing of 2017. Over the last 100 years many people have engaged in violence on behalf of a range of political and religious causes. This talk will explore some of these campaigns of violence and Britain’s responses to them.
