Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: The case of the steel-plated soldier

During the First World War, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle led a campaign to persuade the British Government to develop and improve helmets, body armour and shields for soldiers fighting in the trenches. this special exhibition, on tour from The Royal armouries, features his letters, research and designs, and charts the legacy of his efforts to the present day.
