Taking inspiration from our War Paint exhibition, an expert panel will discuss how art, historically and today, influences public perceptions of the army.
Artists have used the army as a subject for hundreds of years, for numerous reasons. Their works have influenced public opinion about the army - sometimes glorifying battles and romanticising soldiering, or revealing the human suffering and reality of warfare.
In conjunction with our War Paint exhibition, we’re bringing together a panel of experts to discuss how public opinion is shaped by artistic representations of the army and conflict.
