In Conversation with Gareth Brookes: Comics, embroidery and flower pressing

Join the Curator of ‘The Story of British Comics So Far…’ as they talk with local graphic novelist, printmaker, and textile artist Gareth Brooks to discuss comic book culture and the influence of sequential art on his own work. Exploring the themes of adolescence, suburban life, and Englishness, Brookes’ autobiographical creations experiment with craft processes such as embroidery and flower pressing. A unique opportunity to hear Gareth talk about the creative processes behind his art and published works, including ‘The Black Project’, winner of Myriad’s First Graphic Novel Competition (2012).
