The Royal Pavilion is delighted to welcome acclaimed author Paddy Ashdown to present and discuss his new book Game of Spies: The Secret Agent, the Traitor and the Nazi in the palace’s magnificent Music Room, followed by a complimentary drink and book signing in the Banqueting Room.
Paddy Ashdown has had a varied and action-packed career - as an officer in the Commandos and Special Boat Service, in secret intelligence and as a diplomat, as an MP and leader of his party, an international peacemaker in Bosnia and more recently as a specialist military historian.
Paddy’s latest book is a gripping account of a never-before-told slice of French history that reveals a lethal spy triangle in 1940’s Bordeaux. Game of Spies tells the story of France’s greatest betrayal by aristocratic and right-wing Resistance leader André Grandclément, and the role of an SOE agent caught up in treachery, bed-hopping and executions.
Buy a copy of Game of Spies: The Secret Agent, The Traitor and the Nazi on the night and enjoy a £5 discount (rrp £20). In partnership with City Books.
