Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance commemorating the men from Pickering who died during the First World War goes on display in the museum for the first time on 1 July, the 100th anniversary of the first day of the Battle of the Somme. The Book of Remembrance is the result of nearly three years of research by a team of volunteer researchers from the museum. It is part of an ongoing project to celebrate the centenary of the First World War supported by a grant from Arts Council England through the Remember Scarborough Project.
