Highland Innovation: Carving in Stone!

Come and discover the history of the Highlands and Islands through the story of Clan Donald, its most powerful clan. Join us on a journey through 1500 years of history and culture at the award winning Museum of the Isles which will be focussing on the theme of 'Highland Innovation' for this year's Festival of Museums. Watch in wonder as an expert Stone Carver replicates early decorative stone relief carving from the time of the Lordship of the Isles! A technique that stretches far back into the history of Clan Donald. The Museum is set within the stunning Armadale Castle Gardens so why not make a day of it and explore this floral paradise which features plants from around the world and 200 year old trees. We promise you won't be disappointed by this cultural and botanical oasis!
